What do magicians do in their spare time? They make USB chargers from Altoids gum tins and MintyBoost kits! Well, not all magicians... just me. This USB charger allows you to power rechargable batteries through your computer's USB port and later recharge your ipod or other USB peripheral when there is no outlet or computer nearby. I added a few touches to the original: Added non-conductive tape to the inside of the box, used various tools to cut the usb hole (stronger construction, but more time consuming), and added tape to "clean" the sharp edges.
This is a fantastic kit to learn how to solder. The instructions were easy to follow. However, I recommend having the computer nearby to roll-over the pictures for the pop-ups. Now you can recharge your ipod anywhere! ...as long as airport security doesn't think it's a bomb... sigh.

While I was writing this post, I found a Breathing Powered USB Charger. Work for my power?! Am I the only one who thinks this sounds Matrixy?
